Counselling can help by providing a confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life
I’m a fully qualified BACP counsellor currently working in private practice based in Leeds and also online. I provide a calm and grounded environment in which you can safely explore the difficulties you are experiencing. I can help with a range of difficulties but I specialise in working with stress, anxiety & depression
I have been in Leeds since 2012 but I’ve also had the opportunity to travel, spending time in Leicester, London and Nottingham. I have also lived abroad, an experience which has given me the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
I initially started my career studying Computer science at University before switching to Physiotherapy. It was during that course that I was diagnosed with depression. I took some time out and talked through my problems in counselling. One of the problems I encountered was realising that I was always doing things to please others and not looking after myself. This caused a lot of underlying stress & anxiety which I was unaware of. Counselling helped me a great deal, enabling me to understand where these difficulties had come from but importantly what I could do to address how I was feeling.
I spent many years working in hospitality before eventually deciding to turn to a career in Counselling. My training helped me a great deal, putting me on the path of self discovery and personal development which eventually resulted in me becoming a counsellor. It has helped me grow as a person and still continues to do so.
Hopefully I can support you to make the changes that will help you achieve your full potential and ultimately be happy.
Going to get help can be a daunting experience. For this reason, I provide a calm and grounded environment in which you can safely explore the difficulties you are experiencing. Life can sometimes be so fast-paced and stressful that it’s hard to even think straight. Having that time to share your thoughts and emotions without being judged is an important part of the process of therapy.
Working together, we will establish the areas of your life that you want to address and set goals that we can achieve during our sessions. My approach focuses on helping you gain a better understanding of everything that has brought you to this moment in your life. Instead of the sessions being a factual recount of everything that has happened, there is a focus on your emotions and how things have made you feel. Working through these difficult emotions can often be the starting point to reducing your stress & anxiety.
Going through this exploration will allow you to come away with a greater understanding of your life experiences. This can be extremely empowering as soon as you have this understanding you will have the ability to make positive changes.
“I saw Keith for a number of years as I had struggled with a number of things. He really helped me get to the roots of my problems and with the work we put in together I am now living a much better life.”
